SOUTH DUNDAS – A two vehicle crash in May has led to a slew of charges for a South Dundas man this past week.
SD&G OPP say that the two vehicle collision occurred on May 18th around 3:41 p.m. on County Road 2. Police allege that one of the two vehicles fled the scene.
The resulting investigation led to a South Dundas resident, 41, being charged after police determined that a 12-year-old child was driving at the time of the crash. The adult, accused of being impaired at the time, then drove from the scene.
The resident is charged with two counts of diving a motor vehicle while impared; Two counts of driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of Alcohol in their blood; One count of dangerous drive; And one count under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to remain.
The accused, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of the young person involved, was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 27th.
Impaired driver intercepted
SOUTH DUNDAS – A South Dundas resident was intercepted on County Road 31 just after midnight on June 8th. Police allege the vehicle was driving erratically.
The resulting investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Griffin Patterson, 20, of South Dundas, was arrested and faces three charges: One count of Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired; One count of Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood; And one count of stunt driving.
Patterson was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg.
Road rage incident leads to charges
SOUTH DUNDAS – A minor collision June 9th between an SUV and a Tractor Trailer has led to a Granby, Quebec man facing road rage charges.
SDG OPP say that officers responded to a report of a disturbance and traffic complaint on Highway 401. The police investigation revealed that a male exited the transport and brandished a weapon following the vehicle collision. The driver of the tractor trailer then fled the scene.
Police allege the driver of the transport was under the influence of a drug.
Daye Ouellette, 37, was arrested and charged with: One count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; Three counts of assault with a weapon; And operation while impaired.
Ouellette also faces three charges under the Highway Traffic Act including: Fail to remain; Fail to carry inspection schedule; And fail to maintain daily log.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Morrisburg court July 9th.
