Enjoy a ‘Cool Yule’ with the Seaway Valley Singers

The spirit of Christmas is in the air.

And one of the most delightful symbols of that spirit is music, the wonderful songs, old and new, that celebrate the Christmas season.

On Sunday, December 6, 2015, the Seaway Valley Singers will bring their gift of song to South Dundas as they hold their annual Christmas Concert, A Cool Yule, at Iroquois United Church,  beginning at 3 p.m.

Appearing with the Singers will be the Handbell Ringers of Winchester United Church, directed by Colleen Howard. The Ringers will perform solo numbers and join the Choir for two pieces during the concert.

The 50 voice Seaway Valley Singers’ choir is under the direction of Robert Jones. Chesterville resident Jones has been the choir master for the Singers for 12 years.

The choir  will be accompanied on Sunday, December 6, by Margaret Whisselle, organist and choir director at both Iroquois United Church and Morrisburg’s Lakeshore Drive United Church.

And returning as emcee and commentator for this much anticipated concert will be Dr. Gerry Rosenquist.

The choir will offer a program to delight all ages at their Cool Yule Christmas performance.

Among many old favourites in the program are A Child is Born in Bethlehem and Here We Come  a-Wassailing. But also look for the choir’s interpretation of  pieces like ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, Mele Kalikimaka and Cool Yule.

Tickets for this wonderful South Dundas tradition of music are adults $10 in advance (students $5) or $12 at the door.

Tickets are available from all choir members and at area PharmaChoice Pharmacies. They may also be purchased at the Basket Case in Morrisburg. Or call Nancy, 613-652-2717.

Start off your Christmas season on ‘the right note’ by joining the Seaway Valley Singers for A Cool Yule, Iroquois United Church, December 6, 3 p.m.
