It doesn’t seem possible, but yes, once again it is time to think merry and jolly. And area seniors are invited to get into that merry and jolly holiday spirit at the annual South Dundas Seniors Christmas Party coming up on Saturday, November 28 at Matilda Hall in Dixon’s Corners.
MacEwen Petroleum of Morrisburg, has once again demonstrated their generosity to the community by sponsoring the 11th annual concert which is co-organized by the Morrisburg and District and Iroquois/Matilda Lions Clubs.
Karen Ouderkirk owner/operator of MacEwen’s (Morrisburg) is proud to again sponsor the South Dundas Seniors Christmas Concert, and the Lions Clubs are pleased to confirm the Hartford Retirement Centre in Morrisburg, is also on board as a sponsor.
Transportation to the concert will be provided, and when concert goers enter Matilda Hall, they will find it transformed for the Christmas season, to provide a festive backdrop for the antics of emcee Lion Wayne Domanko, entertainment, exceptional refreshments and the opportunity to spend an afternoon in fellowship with friends.
The doors at Matilda Hall will open at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, and the concert will take place from 2-4 p.m.
This year’s entertainment headliners are Roxanne Delage and Rod Robillard who will bring their Acoustic Christmas to Matilda Hall. Acoustic Christmas includes an eclectic variety of Christmas and holiday music, both traditional and contemporary.
Roxanne, a multi-talent woman (journalist, photographer, singer) and guitarist Rod Robillard are well known in Cornwall and area. She released her first solo CD in 2012, featuring 10 songs she had written.
Home made refreshments will be served by members of the two Lions clubs and of course a very special guest is expected to attend…Ho! Ho! Ho!
Santa and his delightful elves have requested the date for this year’s party, and so it is certain the jolly gentleman will be making an appearance to top off the afternoon.
The event is offered at no cost to all seniors in the municipality of South Dundas.
