Search warrant leads to weapons charges

SOUTH DUNDAS – A search warrant was executed at a property on Rowena Road, north of Iroquois, on January 16th. Officers from the SDG detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with the tactical rescue unit, the emergency response team, and the community street crime unit executed that warrant.

Police seized several weapons. Arrested and charged at the scene was 26-year-old Marc Martin.

He faces one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of careless storage of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and eight counts of failure to comply with conditions of a probation order.

Martin was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
