Freezing rain advisory issued

SOUTH DUNDAS – Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain advisory for Thursday evening, extending into Friday morning. The agency says snow, or snow mixed with ice pellets will begin around 10 p.m. this evening. It will change to freezing rain overnight, and then to rain by Friday morning. It is expected that the freezing rain will persist longer in the Ottawa Valley area before changing to rain. Temperatures are expected to rise to a high of 6 Celsius by Friday afternoon.

Scattered snow showers are expected Friday evening, with temperatures dropping to a low of minus-2 Celsius overnight. By Saturday night, temperatures will drop to a low of minus-19 Celsius. Temperatures are expected to warm up again for New Year’s Eve.
