MORRISBURG – The popular area attraction, the Alight at Night Festival at Upper Canada Village has been closed for today, December 28th.

“Due to slippery conditions on the streets of Upper Canada Village, Alight at Night will be closed,” said Susan Le Clair, acting director of marketing for the St. Lawrence Parks Commission.

She said in a release that the attraction will re-open December 29th.

The area was under a freezing rain advisory starting December 27th, with freezing rain developing into rain over the day. A number of accidents occurred on area roads while crews dealt with the icy conditions. The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed at Upper Canada Road early Friday morning due to an accident.
