South Dundas announces municipal grant deadline

MORRISBURG – The application period for the 2019 Municipal Grants and Dollar for Dollar Funding Programs from the Municipality of South Dundas are now open.

The municipality recognizes each year various organizations that benefit residents, by offering an opportunity to request financial and in-kind grants and donations from the Municipality.

“Council looks forward to working with the many groups that provide valued volunteer contributions to our community,” said mayor Steven Byvelds in a release December 12th.

Council will determine the amount of funding that will be available during the budget process in 2019.

There are four categories under the Municipal Grant Program: community organization grants and donations; in-kind contributions; special events; and community events.

Volunteer and non-profit groups can also apply capital grant funding through South Dundas’ Dollar for Dollar Capital Funding Program. That program  that covers up to 50 per cent of a community improvement project and is capped at a maximum of $25,000.

“It’s very important that groups and organizations read the grant policies and criteria available on the municipal website to make sure they are eligible for these programs,” said Sarah McMillan, deputy treasurer.

McMillan said that the municipality usually receives more requests for funding than can feasibly be accepted. Applications are reviewed in a fair process designed to distribute funds across South Dundas.

Application forms are available on and are due by January 11, 2019 at 4:30 pm. Late applications will not be considered.
