Laurin and Cameron fly high in Ladies Open

The sun was shining for this year’s Morrisburg Golf Club’s Ladies Open.
The annual tournament saw 70 golfers hit the course Wednesday, August 24 with Judy Laurin and Judy Cameron the big winners for the day. Following a play off with Diane Gallinger, Laurin captured low gross of the day with an 86, while Cameron took low net of the day with a 66.
The A flight division welcomed 15 players to the greens with the top low gross players as follows: Diane Gallinger with 86, Vicki Boivin with 89, and Monique Patenaude with 91. The top three low net scorers were: Pauline Albert with 68, Laurie Dillabough with 69, and Anita Cooper with 70.
In B flight, there were 19 players competing. Candace Burns (93), Heather Black (97), and Joan Larocque (99) captured the top low gross scores. Taking the top low net spots were: Peggy McPhail with 68, Val St. John with 68, and Heather Well-Baker with 69.
Eleven players competed in C flight with Candace Jamieson (104), Helen Zeran (110), and Greta McGann (113) taking the top three low gross scores, while Elsie Guindon (75), Claire Locke (75), and Joyce Parker (78) captured the low net results for that category.
In addition to A, B, and C flight players, the tournament also welcomed 25 recreational players.
Deanna Cassell won the putting contest.
The closest to the pin winners were: Pat Hayes (2), Sharon Courneyea (5), Diane Hutton (8), Greta McGann (11), Debbie Ledger (14), and Heather Black (17).
