Welcome Mob Scene Supports Shopping Locally at Iroquois Plaza

With about 50 people causing a commotion in the Iroquois Plaza Saturday morning, organizers of the first ever cash mob in South Dundas, were calling it a success.

“This is great, we are really pleased,” agreed Nelly Leightizer and Reina De Jong, the duo that took the lead in organizing Saturday’s Cash Mob.

Although they were not yet ready to commit to holding a second one, they were very pleased with the attention this one attracted.

“I am quite impressed that these two local ladies have their heart in supporting local businesses,” said Candace Latulippe, owner of River Rat Treasures, the store initially targeted for the Cash Mob.

Businesses participating by offering special limited time discounts to Cash Mob Participants were River Rat Treasures, Mustard’s Variety, Mother Clucker’s, Gilmer Pharmacy, Something Old, Something New, Murphy’s Bar and Grill, Lockview Gifts, Yefsi Restaurant, Thompson Timber Mart and Iroquois Foodland.
