Shop the Neighbourhood start of Hometown Christmas Shopping experience in Morrisburg

Saturday, November 28, a national initiative of Yellow Pages – Shop the Neighbourhood will be taking place right here in Morrisburg.

Friday, Grace McDonough of the Morrisburg Downtown Business Improvement Area confirmed that 23 businesses from the DBIA have registered to participate.

Through this initiative of Yellow Pages which celebrates small businesses, Canadians are being reminded of how local shopping makes a difference in all our lives.

Shoppers can download an app that will tell them which businesses are participating and what special deals they plan to offer as part of Shop the Neighbourhood.

Even those who don’t download the app, will know that when they are shopping locally that day, local businesses are participating and will be offering something special.

Also on November 28, the Morrisburg DBIA is launching Shop Hometown Christmas Downtown Morrisburg.

From Saturday, November 28 until Saturday, December 19, participating businesses will be offering discounts, special offers and various prizes and giveaways.

Among the various draws, patrons of all Morrisburg DBIA businesses will have the opportunity to enter a draw for a free Christmas turkey.

Also, 15 businesses are participating in Spot the Elf, which is part of the Shop Hometown Christmas Downtown Morrisburg.

Those participating will have a special elf on display somewhere in their establishment. Those who spot the elf will be given a ballot to enter a draw for a $250 gift certificate at a participating business.

Turkey and Spot the Elf draws will take place December 21, 2015.

Morrisburg Santa Parade Day, which is set for Saturday, December 5, at 11 a.m. is another great day for Downtown Morrisburg.

For parade goers, the DBIA is bringing the Seaway Valley Singers to the Plaza to carol before the parade, and will have free popcorn available for the kids.
