MORRISBURG – The Morrisburg Lions found themselves on the wrong side of a pair of blow-out losses over the weekend, losing to division rivals Metcalfe and North Dundas.

The team took on the Metcalfe Jets on November 15th, losing 9-2.

Metcalfe took an early 3-1 lead after the first period and didn’t look back, adding four goals in the second period and two in the third.

Aiden Daly and Justin Leroux scored the only goals for the Lions in the game. Goalies Riley Phillips and Kamden Sabourin shared the loss in net for the Lions.

Another loss in the game for the Lions was forward Cal Bilmer, who suffered a broken leg and will be out for the remainder of the season.

The Lions limped home to take on the North Dundas Rockets on November 16th, which resulted in another blow-out loss for the home side, 10-2.

The Rockets opened the scoring five minutes into the game and built a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.

North Dundas piled on four goals in the second period and three more in the third for the 10-2 win. Daly scored his third goal in as many games while Jake Amo scored the other goal for the Lions. Sabourin and Phillips split goaltending duties for Morrisburg.

The Lions remain in the basement of the NCJHL standings with three points and are on a four game losing streak.

The team will host the league-leading South Grenville Rangers at the Morrisburg Arena on November 23rd.
