Going into the weekend, the Lions had not won a game so far this season. The teams played the first game of the home-and-home series in Carp on November 2nd.

After a scoreless first period, the Inferno took a 1-0 lead early in the second period. Justice Brownlee (from Jack Ingram and Tyson Sherrer) tied the game on a Lions power play late in the period. But the Inferno countered back in the final minute of the period to hold a 2-1 lead.

West Carleton pulled ahead 3-1 midway through the third period but Brownlee (from Ingram and Aaron Smith) answered back seconds later. The Inferno scored an insurance power play goal late in the period to take the first game of the series 4-2. Morrisburg out shot West Carleton 37-28.

The series moved to the Morrisburg Arena on November 3rd where power play goals were the flavour of the day.

The teams were scoreless until late in the second period when Brownlee scored a power play goal (from Tyler Rae), giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.

West Carleton tied the game in the opening minute of the third period, but the Lions did not get deflated as in past games. Aaron Smith (from Jake Amo and Justin Shay) scored the go-ahead-goal three minutes later, Lions led 2-1. A trio of power play goals over three minutes put Morrisburg firmly in the lead 5-1. First Greg McMullen (from Aiden Daly) scored, followed by Smith (from Rae) and Brownlee (from Ingram and Rae). Lions won 5-1!

Goalie Riley Phillips stoped 35 of 36 shots for the win, while Rae was the playmaker with three assists in the game.

The Lions travel to Chesterville to take on the fizzling North Dundas Rockets November 9th.

Morrisburg will host the Metcalfe Jets on November 10th at the Morrisburg Arena. Puck drop is at 2:15 p.m.
