Peacefully with his family by his side at the Wellington House Nursing Home in Prescott on Monday, October 21, 2019, Gerald Merkley of Iroquois, age 87. Beloved husband of the late Lois Merkley (nee Prosser). Loving father of Laurie Ouimet (Pierre) of Iroquois. Pops will be fondly remembered by his grandson Stephane Ouimet (Brittany) of Cornwall. Dear brother of Dorothy Reddick of Iroquois. Brother-in-law of Marvin Prosser (Myrna) of Cardinal. Predeceased by his parents Mahlon and Eliza Merkley (nee James) and his nephew Mark Prosser. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Iroquois, on Thursday, October 24th from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 25th at 11 a.m. Donations to the South Dundas Animal Shelter or the Wellington House Activity Fund would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
