WINCHESTER – The Williamsburg Minor Pioneers handed the Winchester Sox 2 their first loss of the season July 4th, an 11-0 shut out.

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, working their way through most of the batting order off a shaky Sox pitcher.

Williamsburg added five runs in the second inning. After loading the bases, Reed McCadden had his first of two singles for the night, picking up an RBI in the process. Next up was Emmett Lemire, who knocked the ball out of the park for a grand slam home run.

Singles in the top of the fourth inning by Callam Larocque, Simon Martens and McCadden helped drive in five more runs, sealing the 11-0 shut out win.

Lemire struck out five batters and allowed only four hits in two innings. Reliever Ethan Nelson threw for one inning and struck out three batters and allowed two hits.
