CARDINAL/IROQUOIS – Last night (June 12), around 10:30 p.m. the Grenville County OPP posted on Twitter that they are looking to speak with anyone who was kayaking in the St. Lawrence River near Cardinal at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Also, last night flares lit up the river and shoreline in the Iroquois area, in what was a related effort as search and rescue helicopters flew repeatedly along the St. Lawrence River shoreline.
The effort was deployed for a possible missing kayaker.
Constable Eric Ranger from the SDG OPP told The Leader this morning that there was no missing kayaker.
