Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital, on Monday, June 3, 2019. Karel Groniger of Iroquois at the age of 93. Dearly beloved husband of the late Mary Groniger (nee Brus)and dear companion and friend of Wilma Hendricks. Loving father of Thea (Terry) Russell of Fergus, John (Rina) of Iroquois, Josie Groniger (Seth O’Hara) of Brockville and Tim (Diane) of Ottawa. Dear brother of Sefa Asbruck of Brockville, Mimi Krake of Holland, Bennie (Maria) of Holland, Matilda (Herman) Fransen of Holland, Otto Rikie) of Holland and Agnes Groniger of Holland. Predeceased by his 2 infant sons Joseph and Henry, by his sisters Lena Hilderink, Hanny Groniger Marie Hilderink and by his brothers Joop, Herman, Hein and Alfons. Sadly missed by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends may call at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Iroquois on Sunday from 1-4pm and on Monday from 10-10:45. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia’s R.C. Church on Monday, June 10, at 11am. Donations to the Winchester Hospital or the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
