Seaway XC competes at North Dundas Invitational

WINCHESTER – Athletes from Seaway Intermediate and Seaway District High School’s cross-country teams competed in the third annual North Dundas Invitational competition October 12th in Winchester.

Lily Henderson finished third overall in the intermediate girls 3,000 metre event, with a time of 10:56.3 minutes, 13 seconds behind first place. Kloe Lewis finished in 7th with a time of 11:10.4 minutes. Kyra Lewis took 24th place, Kathryn Swerdfeger 31st, Kaelea Feht 65th, Emma Johnston 76th, Meredith Windle 82nd, Vanessa Latulippe 83rd, Abigail Smail 84th, Hailey Steward 86th, and Eshal Ali 101st. There were 130 runners in the event.

In the intermediate boys 3,000 metre event, Terrance Mudde finished just outside of the top-1o in 11th place. Rory Gilmour finished in 17th, Cameron Shaver 35th, Quade Mullin 72nd, Daran Tibben 77th, Alek Laroque 84th, and William Nielsen 127th. There were 135 runners in the event.

In high school results, Lilly Lewis had the best overall result for the high school cross-country team, finishing in fourth place in the junior girls 4,000 metre event. Her time of 23:19.18 minutes was 2:09 minutes behind the first place winner.

Alex Stewart finished 10th overall in the senior boys 6,000 metre event with a time of 23:19.09 minutes, 2:40 minutes out of first. Austin Markell was 41st overall and Kevin Fawcett-Baldwin was 50th in the event. Raiden Foote finished 39th overall in the midget boys 4,000 metre event while Ryley Ault finished 45th.

The high school team next competes at the SDG County championship, also in Winchester, on October 17th. The race is the qualifier for the EOSSAA championship next week in Kemptville.
