MORRISBURG – Today, Joyce Latulippe filed nomination papers announcing her intention to seek election as councillor in the upcoming municipal election.

“I’m genuine, I will listen and I will work as hard as a can,” said the 44 year old mother of four for whom this will be a first foray into the realm of municipal government.

Latulippe is the second person to file nomination papers to seek election as councillor joining incumbent councillor Archie Mellan on the growing list of candidates.

So far the councillor seat is the only position that does not yet have more candidates than the three available seats.

South Dundas mayor Evonne Delegarde will seek re-election as mayor and South Dundas councillor Marc St. Pierre recently announced that he too will be seeking election as mayor.

South Dundas councillor Bill Ewing will be seeking election as deputy mayor, having made the decision when deputy mayor Jim Locke announced that he will not be seeking re-election to council.

Kirsten Gardner plans to oppose Ewing in seeking election as deputy mayor.

The nomination deadline is July 27, 2018.

October 22, 2018 is election day.
