Glen Whitteker

A lifetime resident of the area, Glen Whitteker passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was 70.

Glen was born in Cornwall on August 31, 1947, to his parents Walter and Jean Whitteker (nee MacLaren), and was raised in Williamsburg.

Glen attended public school in Williamsburg and high school in Morrisburg. After graduation he worked for a short period of time as an accountant at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Ottawa.

He returned to Williamsburg to work as a butcher and take over the family business his father had started in 1937, Whitteker Meat Market. He always tried to do a perfect job for all of the customers and enjoyed their friendly ways. Glen was a member of the Williamsburg Fire Department for over twenty years. He always enjoyed this quality time especially after the meeting.

Glen enjoyed boating, fishing, moose and deer hunting; mostly all outdoor activities where he could get a bit of fresh air. He greatly enjoyed barbecuing suppers for his family and friends along with all of the conversation that went along with it.

Glen’s twinkle in his eyes and great spirit will be greatly missed by his family.

Glen is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Heather Whitteker (nee Smith), his children Thomas Whitteker of Iroquois and Laurie Arsenault (nee Whitteker) of Iroquois, his sister Doris Whitteker of Iroquois and his grandchildren Mackenzie and Kody Arsenault.

He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Jean Whitteker (nee MacLaren). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
