SD to subsidize ice rental expenses

MORRISBURG – South Dundas will compensate three local ice users due to the construction delays affecting the Morrisburg Arena renovation.

The Morrisburg and District Skating Club, South Dundas Minor Hockey and the Morrisburg Junior ‘C’ Lions will see a subsidy covering the difference between the ice rental cost in South Dundas, and what the groups pay in neighbouring municipalities.

South Dundas council agreed to the request at the August 22nd council meeting.

The Junior ‘C’ Lions club also sought compensation for lost gate revenue at the arena, based on lost ticket sales. Council did not approve the request at the meeting.
