SOUTH DUNDAS — Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a single vehicle fatal collision on County Road 1, north of Hainsville.
According to a release from the OPP, their investigation has indicated that on May 11, 2017 at approximately 9:30pm, a 2012 GMC pick-up truck driven by 34-year old Mathew Nelson, was travelling south on County Road 1 when, for reasons under investigation, it went out of control and rolled over. Nelson was the lone occupant, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to process the scene and investigate. A section of County Road 1, between Irish Headline Road and Pleasant Valley Road was closed to traffic until approximately 6 a.m. Friday morning.
