One dead in County Road 31 crash

WINCHESTER SPRINGS — Officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two vehicle collision on County Road 31 north of Winchester Springs at 12:51 p.m. April 11th.

In a release from the OPP, a preliminary investigation indicated a Mini Cooper was traveling south on County Road 31 when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a transport truck (milk tanker). The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has been withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. The driver of the transport was not injured.

Detachment officers were on the scene, working with the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, continuing their investigation.

County Road 31 between Nesbitt road and Hollister Road has been closed with detours in place.
