Lester Merkley

A lifetime resident of the area, Lester Merkley passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.  He was 44.

Lester was born in Winchester on November 13, 1971, to his parents Earl Merkley and June Tyo and was educated in local schools.

Lester enjoyed fishing, canoeing, working on cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  

Lester is survived by his mother June Hutt (Rick) of Iroquois, his children Anthony of Iroquois, Nathon (Ralph) of Morrisburg, Daniel (Stephanie) of Morrisburg and Shawnia Trepanier (John) of Prescott.  

Lester will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Devon, Allissa, Sophia and Skarlett.  

He was predeceased by his father Earl and his brother Earl Jr.  He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.   

Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  

Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13th at 11 a.m., with Rev. Janet Evans officiating.  

Interment followed at Spruce Haven Cemetery, Brinston.  

Pallbearers were Anthony Merkley, Nathon Merkley, Daniel Merkley, Shawnia Trepanier, Gordon Holden and John Trepanier.  

 Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
