The Seaway Kickers U14M team left Ottawa tying division rivals the Ottawa Internationals on August 11th at Bruff Park in Ottawa South.
Scoring opened 14 minutes into the game as midfielder Jayden Rowe received a pass from the left by forward Kolby Latulippe and drove down the center into Ottawa’s goal, 1-0 Seaway.
The Internationals tied the game at the 26 minute mark with a shot on the left side of Seaway goalkeeper Josh Corput. Corput attempted the save but the shot had too much spin, finding the back of Seaway’s net.
The Kickers retook the lead at the 34 minute mark after a scrum in front of Ottawa’s goal saw Latulippe’s pass make its way into the bottom right corner of the net off an Internationals defenceman, 2-1 Seaway at half-time.
The Internationals evened the score at the 57 minute mark with a header high into the top corner of the goal, 2-2.
Ottawa kept the pressure on, breaking through Seaway’s defence at the 68 minute mark making it 3-2 for the Internationals.
Midfielder Wyatt Beckstead had a breakaway shot down Ottawa’s right side, tying the game with two minutes left on the clock. Final score, Seaway Kickers 3 – Ottawa Internationals 3.
This is the third time this season these two teams have faced each other, each time the even teams have walked away with a tie.
With five games remaining in the 2016 season, the Kickers have a record of 10 wins, 3 ties and 2 losses.
