Dozens of drug charges

August 3rd, police released details regarding 10 Section 11 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Warrants executed the week before across SD&G and the City of Cornwall, resulting in dozens of charges.

Thursday July 28th, the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit (Cornwall) concluded Project CARDIFF a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation into Matthew Collins (34), of Ingleside.

Numerous police units assisted in the successful execution of all warrants, including the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, and the Cornwall Community Police Service.

The search warrants were for the residence of Matthew Collins (Maple St, Ingleside), a lot belonging to Matthew Collins (Duffy’s Rd South Stormont), the residence of Jeff Pond (Baldwin Street, Cornwall) the residence of Michael Francis (Fifth St, Morrisburg), the residence of Monique Garlough (CR 29, South Stormont), the residence of Rodney Beckstead (North Lunenburg Rd, South Stormont), the residence of Calvin Zeron (CR 15, South Stormont), the residence of Eldon Collins (Duffy’s Rd, South Stormont), the residence of Jason Whiteland (Duffy’s Rd, South Stormont), and the residence of Steven Prunner, (Broken Second Rd, South Dundas.)

At the conclusion of the search from each location police located and seized the evidence.

From the residence of Matthew Collins, Ingleside; 3 grams Cannabis marijuana and $16,730 Canadian currency was seized.

From the residence of Jeff Pond, Cornwall; 1,313 methamphetamine pills, 61 marijuana plants, 55 marijuana plant clones, 6 pounds of marijuana bud, 9 grams of Cannabis resin, 84 unknown pills, 85 vials of unknown substance, 0.5 grams of unknown powder, 60 oxycodone pills, 63 grams of psilocybin, 5.7 grams suspected cocaine, $10,060 Canadian currency and $2,926 US currency was seized.

From the residence of Michael Francis, Morrisburg; 125 grams of Cannabis resin, 103 grams of cocaine, 34 oxycodone pills, 79 percocet pills, 29 grams of marijuana bud, and $870 Canadian currency was seized.

From the residence of Monique Garlough, South Stormont; 22 grams of cocaine, 17 methamphetamine pills and $840 Canadian currency was seized.

From the residence of Rodney Beckstead, South Stormont; 52 grams of cannabis marijuana, 3 grams of cannabis resin and 218 unknown pills were seized.

From the residence of Calvin Zeron, South Stormont; 5 grams of Cannabis marijuana was seized.

From the residence of Eldon Collins South Stormont; a 22 caliber long gun and shells, 75 grams of cannabis resin, 144 grams of marijuana bud, 8.9 kilograms of marijuana shake and 39 marijuana plants were seized.

From the residence of Jason Whiteland, South Stormont; 26.7 grams of cocaine, 8 marijuana plants and $900 Canadian currency was seized.

From the residence of Steven Prunner, South Dundas;13 grams of cannabis marijuana and 281 grams of cannabis marijuana shake was seized.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Matthew Collins (34) of Ingleside; Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marijuana – under 30grams, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada. He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Jeff Pond (42) of Cornwall: Produce a Schedule II substance – cannabis marijuana, Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs, Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking -over 3 kg, Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1 gram, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs, Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada.  He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Michael Francis (35) of Morrisburg; Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marijuana – under 30grams, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg, Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs. He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Rodney Beckstead (47) of South Stormont; Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1 gram.

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 1st, 2016.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Steve Prunner (49) of South Dundas; Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marijuana), Possession of a Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marijuana – over 30 grams.

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on September 6, 2016.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Monique Garlough (44) of South Stormont (ON); Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada. She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 1st, 2016.

As a result of this investigation the following charge was laid against Jason Whiteland (31) of South Stormont; Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marijuana), Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada, Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 1st, 2016.

As a result of this investigation the following charge was laid against Eldon Collins (53) of South Stormont; Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under kg, Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking -over 3 kg, Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marijuana).
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

As a result of this investigation the following charge was laid against Calvin Zeron (25) of South Stormont; Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marijuana – under 30grams. He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 1st, 2016. As later reported by Cornwall Newswatch, the Crown withdrew the charges against Zeron on November 8, 2016. No explanation was given by the Crown for dropping the charges against Zeron.

As a result of this investigation the following charges were laid against Robert Corbett (35) of South Dundas: Fail to Comply with Recognizance (three counts). He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
