Residents of Morrisburg and Iroquois will soon see an increase on their water and sewer bills, as local politicians recently approved the change during a special council meeting.
July 19, saw Municipality of South Dundas council approve CAO/treasurer Shannon Geraghty’s recommendation “for council to increase our water rates 10 per cent effective August 1, which is about $3 a month per user, which is about $18 for the remainder of 2016.”
Deputy mayor Jim Locke insisted that it be made clear to affected residents that this water rate change also means a resulting increase to the fixed sewer rate, as it is calculated as a percentage of the fixed water rate.
