Brinston Road closing April through November

Area residents take note, the Brinston Road overpass area will be completely closed to traffic from April 4 thorough November 2016.

The closure will allow for the complete demolition of the existing structure, construction of the new structure and the associated road work, according to Pomerleau Inc., the company awarded the contract.

Pomerleau will also be doing the Aultsville Road overpass reconstruction in South Stormont, which will be taking place concurrently.

Detour routes are being marked; the route to access Highway 401 are County Road 2 to County Road 1 (Carman Road) and County Road 40 (Stampville Road) to Carman Road.

Along with the local detours, the demolition of the overpasses will require two full closures of Highway 401.

For the Brinston Road project, the eastbound lanes of the 401 are slated for closure April 15, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. April 16, during which time all 401 traffic will follow the detours in place.

The westbound 401 closure for the Brinston Road overpass work will be April 16 from 8 p.m. to April 17, at 8 a.m. Similar 401 closures for the Aultsville project will take place April 8-9 and April 9-10.
