A lifetime resident of the area, Marie Locey passed away at the Cornwall Hospice on Sunday, December 20, 2015. She was 71.
Marie was born in Cornwall, on January 23, 1944, to her parents Thomas and Mary Tyo (nee Parks).
Marie was an animal lover. She enjoyed playing cards and collecting angels and other religious objects. Marie will be fondly remembered by her family for her stubborn and determined nature and her devotion to her children and grandchildren.
She possessed a good sense of humour and was a jokester until the end.
Marie is survived by her daughters Lorraine DeMontigny (Marc) of Cornwall and Candy Locey of Ottawa, her siblings Margaret Richmire of Morrisburg, Adolphus “Joey” Tyo (Linda) of Morrisburg and Cecil Tyo (Marie) of Morrisburg and her grandchildren Steven, Shane, Jonnie-Dean, Ryan and Jacob.
She was predeceased by her sisters Ann Wolfe, Dorothy King, Grace Richmire and her brother Dan Tyo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service was held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 24th, at 11 a.m., with Brian Barr officiating.
Interment followed at New Union Cemetery, Williamsburg. Pallbearers were Paul Major, Paul Seguin, Percy Cameron, Adam Tyo, Raymond Richmire and Jamie Poirier.
