Inconvenient outages Christmas Eve

A December 24th power outage was inconvenient for many South Dundas residents, but most found a way to cope.

High winds on a balmy 17 degree Christmas Eve day were the cause of the outages.

The main impact of the outages, was that locals had to find other ways to get things done as most were in the midst of Christmas preparations.

According to the OPP, County Road 31 was closed for downed wires, so those travelling had to detour around affected areas.

Some turkeys in ovens in Morrisburg were taken to waiting ovens of relatives in areas with power, and other people fired up the barbecues to continue meal preparations.

Morrisburg retailers reported that the power outage couldn’t have happened at a worse time.
