UCV Horse Lover’s Weekend, Sept. 5-7

The 2015 Horse Lovers’ weekend event at Upper Canada Village (September 5-7) will pay tribute to 350 years of Canada’s National Breed, the Canadian Horse.  Saturday, September 5 will be the ‘All-Canadian Day’ and will include an all-Canadian horse parade, anniversary cake and refreshments plus entertainment throughout the day.

“This year’s Horse Lovers’ weekend is a really special celebration as we are marking the 350th anniversary,” says Bruce Henbest. “The Canadian Horse has played such an important role in the settlement of Canada. Upper Canada Village is a great place to see the horses performing a wide variety of tasks every day. They play an important role in helping us to bring life in the 1860’s to life.  We appreciate the support of the horse community in helping us to deliver this great event.”

Natural horsemanship demonstrations and a mock 1860’s horse auction are all part of the weekend’s activities.  It is a great opportunity to watch, learn and improve your understanding of all things equine, with demonstrations and performances by notable horse experts.
