Ross completes $1.8 M renovation

IROQUOIS – As a company that has grown at an average of 17 per cent per year for 25 years, Ross Video knows how to handle its successes and a big part of that is being willing to embrace change, and lots of it.

Ross designs and manufactures equipment for live events and powers video productions for billions of global viewers daily. Its customer base includes some of the biggest broadcasters in the industry such as NBC Sunday Night Football, Eurosport, BBC World, Google and YouTube.

Ross Video has corporate offices in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, and supporting sales and service operations strategically located around the world. Ottawa is home to the company’s marketing and research and development, as well as its North American product training and demonstration center.

But, for all that Ross does globally, the company’s manufacturing operations and its headquarters for administration and finance, are located in Iroquois.

Last Friday staff at Ross Video in Iroquois were busily moving into their new work space made possible by a $1.8 million renovation.

The renovation was necessary to provide expanded manufacturing space. Due to growth and acquisitions, even with this new manufacturing space the Iroquois manufacturing facility is full again.

As Ross works towards its largest expansion ever with the 55,000 square foot two-storey addition to the existing building, Jeff Poapst, vice president of manufacturing led local media through a tour of the existing Iroquois site.

Manufacturing, as Ross does it, is a clean process in a bright facility, filled with employees with smiles on their faces.

“We want to be the employer of choice,” said Poapst. “That’s why no matter what we do, we aim to do right by our staff.”

Doing right by our staff is achieved with many practices in place including quarterly staff updates and more. Ross also has a practice of allowing its employees ample opportunity to provide input and feedback on every change made to their work areas.

“The employees here are used to seeing positive change,” said Poapst.

Along with keeping its staff happy, Ross is also driven to ensure that Ross customers are well-served.

Constant quality control, checks and double checks throughout the entire manufacturing process, mean that Ross has aptly earned and upholds its reputation of delivering among the best quality integrated broadcast systems in the industry.

As a company that aims to offer the best customer service in the business, quality manufacturing is paramount, explained Poapst.

Poapst is proud of this company and this facility, and would like the community to have a first-hand opportunity to see what they are all about. That’s why a community open house is being planned for later this fall.
