Hazel Violet Easter

Passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2018 at the age of 74.  Hazel Easter of Iroquois, loving wife of the late Jake Easter and dear mother of Glen of Iroquois.  Hazel was from a small village in northern New Brunswick called Charlo.  She lost her mother at a very young age. She moved to Ontario in 1958 at the age of 14 and began working full-time, which she continued until her illness in 2000. She battled her debilitating diseases of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, Scleroderma, and Fibromyalgia for 18 long years with grace and determination.  She always had a pragmatic approach to her failing health; she simply adapted her lifestyle to her new limitations.  Hazel’s determination to battle her illness was fueled by her love for her son Glen.  Hazel was the youngest of eight children.  She was predeceased by her parents Forest Baskin & Melinda Bennett, brothers Allie and Henry Baskin, sisters Theresa & brother-in-law Jeffery Savoy, and Bertha & brother-in-law Billy Savoy.  She is survived by her sisters Gladys (Fergy) Ferguson of Sydney NS, Bernice (Jackie) Miller of Quispamsis NB, Leona Livenspire of Surrey BC and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
