BOUCK’S HILL – The annual Golf Fore the Cure tournament will be held August 1st at Cedar Glen Golf Course. The nine hole, best ball tournament is open to teams of four, with either two women and two men, or four women. Registration is capped at 18 teams for the event.
“It’s a great fundraiser in the community,” said tournament organizer Greta McGann. “There isn’t a family that hasn’t had cancer affect them in one way or another. This is why it is vital that we keep supporting cancer treatment and research with fundraisers like this.”
McGann said her goal for the tournament is to raise $5,000 this year. The tournament has raised over $4,000 in the past two years.
The tournament includes dinner, a silent auction and many door prizes. McGann said there are special prizes for the team that brings in the most pledges for the tournament.
Those interested can sign up and also pick up pledge sheets at Cedar Glen by July 31st. No same day sign ups are allowed. Dinner is $15, green fees for the tournament are free with pledges of $25 or more. Tee times start at 3 p.m. August 1st.
