MORRISBURG – With new information and council approval, the Forward House demolition issue was re-opened at the April 3rd council meeting.

A report from director of recreation and facilities Ben Macpherson, included new information from a substance review and three options for council decide how to proceed.

The options:

  • Option 1 – to demolish the existing campsite and Forward House buildings and build a new campsite building at the Forward House location.
  • Option 2 – to demolish the campsite and Forward House buildings and build the new campsite building on a new location.
  • Option 3 – to demolish the campsite building, to leave the Forward House building standing and build the new campsite building on a new location.

After much debate and a recorded vote council selected Option 3.
