At the Starwood Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa on Saturday, January 6, 2018, Tony Toonders of Morrisburg, age 90. Beloved husband of the late Johanna Toonders (nee De Groot). Loving father of Mike (Brenda) of Winchester, Mary-Anne Toonders of Ottawa, John (Debbie) of Morrisburg, Ron (Brenda) of Williamsburg, Dorothy Toonders of Ottawa, Christine Thom (Jimmie) of Kemptville, Carolyn Burgess (Alan) of Greely and Larry (Sharon) of Williamsburg. Tony will be fondly remembered by 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Theo “Ted” (Helen) of London. Predeceased by his sister Martina Bongers and his brothers Frank, Christianis and Jack Toonders. Also survived by nieces & nephews.
Friends may call at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Morrisburg, on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
