MORRISBURG – The 47th annual Tubie Weekend has added a new competition to the events calendar, the Tubie Triathalon.
The race will be run in a swim, bike, run order, with the race being run by individuals or in teams of three. Each team member would be responsbile for one section of the race. Entrants must be 10 years old or older to compete.
The swimming section of the race is approximately 100 metres, starting from Morrisburg beach, around the end of the dock and back again.
The 8.2 kilometre bicycle section of the race runs along Laurier Avenue, across Fifth to Merkley Street, through Merkley Park, with a 50 metre off road section, to Orchard Way, then First Street, and on to Canada Way. Cyclists are to complete two laps of this course.
The final section consists of a 3 kilometre running section set in the east end of Morrisburg. The course is set on Canada Way, Laurier Drive, Kyle Drive, Park Avenue and Sir James Morris Drive. Runners are to complete two laps of the race before finishing the triathalon at the Cruickshank Amphitheatre.
Entries must be received by August 2nd at the South Dundas Chamber office in the Morrisburg Village Plaza. More information is available at www.southdundaschamber.ca.
