Lois Casselman

A lifetime resident of the Elma area, Lois Casselman passed away at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.  She was 93.  

Lois was born in Elma on July 10, 1923, to her parents Edgar and Bessie Robinson and was raised on the family farm.   

On April 22, 1942 she married Bert Casselman and together they had four children. 

After Bert died Lois babysat for 12 different families and those children provided much joy and happiness for Lois.  

Lois enjoyed many things in life such as: working with her flowers, crocheting, playing the organ, reading, dancing, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.  

She was a member of the United Church Women for many years and she enjoyed spending holidays with her family, especially Christmas.  

Lois is survived by her daughter Marjorie Servage of Elma, her brother Doug Robinson (Evelyn) of Elma, her granddaughter Donna Lewis (Duane Gore) and her great-grandchildren Marc (Sunny), Ryan, Jessica (John) and great, great-grandchildren Dion and Taylin.  

She was predeceased by her husband Bert Casselman, her daughter Betty Casselman, her sons Raymond and Ronald Casselman and her sisters Hazel Robinson and Pearl McIntosh.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Saturday, September 3rd from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.  

Interment was at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Chesterville.  

Pallbearers were Duane Gore, Marc Pharand, Ryan Pharand, Jack Casselman, Gary Pemberton and Charles Alexander.  

Donations to Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
