Revitalization of Brinston Park is moving forward

Brinston Memorial Park has been receiving a bit of a revitalization at the hands of municipal recreation workers over recent weeks, and that work will only be the beginning of something bigger.

Recently a  clean up, paint job and minor repairs have given the park a bit of a refresh. It now has a usable canteen building and functioning washrooms.

And, that is only the beginning, as the new South Branch (Matilda) Recreation Committee has taken the first step towards seeing a larger-scale revitalization of Brinston Memorial Park come to fruition.

The South Branch Community Fund Committee, the group which makes recommendations to South Dundas council regarding South Branch Fund-worthy projects, met earlier this week to review the latest applications to the fund.

Upon reviewing the application from the South Branch (Matilda) Recreation Committee, the group voted unanimously in favour of supporting this $34,000 project referred to as phase one of the Brinston Memorial Park revitalization.

Their support means that council, at its next meeting, will review and vote on the proposal. With council support, the project will go ahead using money from the South Branch Community Fund.
