Dundas County Food Bank’s Every Plate Full food drive

For the month of May, food banks across Canada are coming together to participate in the Every Plate Full Campaign. The goal is to fill the empty plates of Canadians in need. As part of this campaign, the Dundas County Food Bank is organizing the Fill-a-Bag Food Drive — a county-wide community food drive. We’re asking everyone in our community to come together to make a difference and help us stock our shelves so that none of our neighbours go hungry this summer.

How can you help?

We're searching for teams of at least three people to drop off grocery bags at homes in communities throughout Dundas County and Finch. Each team will need a vehicle, as the average route would include between 100 and 150 residences.

On Saturday May 7 between 1 and 3 pm, you and your team will leave an empty bag on the front porch or in the mail box of each residence. Each bag includes a letter with details as to what the food drive is about, what items are most needed and instructions on when the bag will be picked up.

On Saturday May 14 between 1 and 3 pm you and your team will return to the same neighbourhood to pick up the food donations. Your team will then drop off all donations at a central location in each community.
