Doreen Pycraft

A resident of Park Drive Villa, Williamsburg, for the past 20 years, Doreen Margot Pycraft (nee Wilson) passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Monday, November 16, 2015.  She was 83.

Doreen was born in Toronto, on September 26, 1932, to her parents Charles and Gladys Wilson (nee Brown).

Doreen was a proud member of the Morrisburg Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at many functions including the monthly bingo.

Her colourful and feisty character, her smile, big laughter and her sense of humour will be missed greatly by many. She never backed down from anyone or anything, and she was always game to try almost anything.

Doreen’s daughters will deeply miss her participation in the magic side of life, and no one lit up as much as she did when children entered the room.

Doreen is survived by her daughters Pat Liddy of Gananoque, Michele Liddy-Brooks (Victor) of Williamsburg and her sister Mary Wilson of Haliburton.

Doreen will be fondly remembered by grandsons Alex Liddy, Rob Watson (Kim), Aaron Reid, Devin Watson (Tara), Chris Reid and great-grandchildren Tristen, Mickey, Isaac and Phaedra. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Gladys and Charles, her daughter Susan Cheryl Liddy, her husbands Charles Liddy and Herbert Pycraft, her sister Elizabeth Fadden and her brothers Charles, Ted and Joel Wilson.

Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Legion Ladies Auxiliary service was held on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 21st, at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Martin officiating.  Cremation followed.

Pallbearers were Rob and Devin Watson, Bryan, T.J., Nathan and Jordan Pacheco.

Donations to the Salvation Army or the Morrisburg Legion Angel Tree Campaign would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com
