Sandra Sine-Szirtes, new principal at MPS

In the short time that Morrisburg Public School principal Sandra Sine-Szirtes has been here, she says she has picked up on the warm and welcoming feeling of the community and the school.

“This is lovely here. This is a beautiful school, and I am so happy to be here.”

Sine-Szirtes, who has been working at the Upper Canada District School Board as Principal-System Performance Excellence and HR for the past two years, had originally thought last spring that she was going to a school in Cornwall.

That changed in the last few days of the school year in June, when MPS principal Beverley Bethune decided to retire.

Before going to the board office, Sine-Szirtes was at Maxville Public School where she was principal for seven years.

Born in Prince Edward County in Picton, she started her teaching career in Peterborough, Ontario. She now lives just outside of Martintown.
