Shari Boyd kicked off the week at Cedar Glen with a 42 to win A flight’s first place at the weekly Ladies Night last Wednesday August 31. Three strokes back was Sheila Crowder who posted a 45 for the B flight win, while Donna Casselman claimed C flight with a 49. A 63 gave Sue Alexander the win in D flight.

Net winners for the evening were Muriel Whitteker in A flight, Marlene Faulkner in B, Pat McKay in C and Linda Barkley in D. Closest to the pin shots were made by Norma McIntosh on the par three sixth hole and Lynn Shaw on the par three ninth.

In men’s night action on Thursday, Denis Villeneuve shot a 39 to win the A flight’s low gross while Jeff Whitteker won B with a 42. Mitch Hutt carded a 46 for the win in C flight, and Richard Bingley took D flight with a 54.

Net winners were Darrell Shelp in A flight, Steve Summers in B, Chris Sachs in C and Peter Elliot in D. James Morrell produced the longest drive and Kenny Mills and Denis Villeneuve dropped the closest to the pins shots on the par three 12th and 15th holes respectively.

In Tuesday Night Scramble action, Kevin Duvall and Randy Casselman teamed for the low gross win with a 33, while Greg and Loretta VanDellen were the low net winners.

Eighty-six golfers participated in the annual Cedar Glen Men’s Open on Monday. Congratulations go to Paul Nooyen (Hylands/Ottawa) who shot a 74 in the very wet conditions to win the day. From Cedar Glen, Phil Douglas shot an 83 in B flight for the low net win at 70 and Cedar Glen’s own Dennis Casselman posted a 102 for the low net 76 (retro) win in C flight.
