Recognition ceremony celebrates Crysler’s Farm Battlefield Monument restoration – Dignitaries were on hand November 6 as the St. Lawrence Parks Commission recognized the completion of the restoration of the 130-year-old monument honouring the “Battle that saved Canada.” The ceremony, held at the hilltop monument next to Upper Canada Village, recognized the contributions of SLPC employees, volunteers, the Friends of Crysler’s Farm Battlefield organization, Tomlinson Group Ltd., Member of Parliament Eric Duncan, and others for their work in preserving the War of 1812 monument.
