MORRISBURG – Having won the Rideau Invitational Grade 7/8 tournament March 21st, the Seaway Intermediate hockey team finished out the 2018-19 season with a sweep of the tournament the school hosted March 25th at the Morrisburg Arena.
In round-robin play, Seaway defeated St. Mark’s Catholic School (Prescott) 8-4 in the first game.
Following that, Seaway beat the team from Académie catholique Ange-Gabriel 8-1 in their second game, and shut-out Brockville Collegiate 4-0.
The team faced off against BCI again in the final, winning 6-2.
“They came together as a team, and played well out there” said coach Robin Gibbs after the game.
Intermediate school hockey teams only play in tournaments. This is one of the few sports that the Upper Canada District School Board has not started an Upper Canada Cup competition for yet.
