MORRISBURG – The annual tradition returns for its 43rd year. The Chubbs tournament is back, with 16 teams battling in four divisions starting February 2nd and running to February 4th at the Morrisburg Arena.
Lead organizer for the tournament Gary McInnis told The Leader that teams from Ottawa, Athens, Kingston and throughout Eastern Ontario will be playing this year.
“There’s lots of draw from the area. It should be a good tournament,” he said.
The puck drops on the tournament starting Friday at 7 p.m., with the division finals running between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. In total, 28 games will be played over the weekend.
Games are free and open to the public to watch. In addition, on Friday and Saturday night, local bands will be playing at the Morrisburg Golf Club.
