Beavers Dental outfits local kids for back to school supplie

Talk about a generous community!

Two weeks ago, Shannon Hudson pitched the idea to her fellow workers at Beaver’s (a division of Sybron Canada) to hold a plant challenge for the collection of  back to school supplies for local students.

Just over one week later, they were meeting with representatives of Morrisburg and Iroquois Public Schools, St. Mary-St. Cecilia Catholic School and Seaway District High School who divided up well over $7,000 in back to school supplies.

“They did a similar drive in Brockville, which is where I got the idea from,” said Hudson last Thursday when she and 12 Beaver’s employees transported the donations to the Morrisburg Public School gym.

Hudson admits that she hadn’t expected such a huge response and she  is overwhelmed with what was collected.

That was a sentiment shared by each of the schools.
