The Lions welcomed back Brennan Markell, who had been on leave from the team, and also had two affiliate players from the North Dundas Demons Major-Midget team, Josh Broad and Owen Fetterly.

Morrisburg took a 1-0 lead early in the first period when Aiden Daly (from Braden Kehoe and Justin Shay) found a way past North Dundas goalie Emmerson Hart on a Lions power play.

The Lions led the Rockets until 13 minutes into the second period when North Dundas tied the game on a Rockets power play.

The teams remained tied until the half way mark in the third period when Justice Brownlee (from Jack Ingram and Fetterly) put the Lions back into the lead. A late goal by Josh Tapp tied the game for the Rockets with less than two minutes left on the clock, and sent the teams into overtime.

Only 1:27 remained in the five minute, four-on-four overtime when Brett Lannin (unassisted) scored the game-winning, overtime goal for North Dundas. Rockets won 3-2 in OT.

The Lions returned home to face the Metcalfe Jets the following day. For the Jets this was the third game in as many days for that team.

Morrisburg struck early again as Aaron Smith notched his fourth goal of the season (from Markell and Tyson Sherrer). Lions led 1-0.

The Lions doubled their lead late in the final minute of the first period when Jake Amo (from Sherrer and Markell) scored on Jets’ goalie Josh Legault. Morrisburg led Metcalfe 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Metcalfe cut Morrisburg’s lead in half 90 seconds into the second period, and tied the game early in the third.

A short-handed goal by Mark Brosseau put the Jets ahead with eight minutes remaining in the game.

Morrisburg pulled goalie Riley Phillips in the final minute to try to tie the game, but couldn’t get a goal back. The Lions lost to the Jets 3-2. The Jets out shot the Lions 44-35 in the effort.

The Lions travel to Metcalfe for a rematch between the teams on November 15th. Morrisburg will host the Rockets on November 16th at the Morrisburg Arena. Puck drop is at 7:15 p.m.
