CUPE to begin strike action on Monday

MORRISBURG – On Wednesday morning, October 2nd, CUPE’s Ontario School Board Council of Unions notified that the union will begin a full strike action on Monday, October 7th.

UCDSB chair John McAllister said, “I cannot say what the next steps are at this moment. The matter is very much on our radar and the Director and senior staff are monitoring the situation very closely.”

CDSBEO chair Todd Lalonde said, “The CDSBEO is currently developing a contingency plan in the event that an agreement is not reached by end of day October, 6, 2019.”

Lalonde said that the board will update as details become available and appreciates the patience of the school community.
