MORRISBURG – Nearly six months later, the investigation into the fatal shooting at the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP detachment in Morrisburg continues.
The shooting, which occurred on the morning of December 23rd, involved OPP officers and a civilian.
Forty-three year old Babak Saidi from Iroquois was identified by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit as the deceased.
The SIU is mandated under the Police Services Act by the province to investigate any reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” said SIU communications officer Monica Hudon.
No time line was given as to when the investigation would conclude or a final report would be issued.
