MORRISBURG – Black Lumber Company in Morrisburg will close at the end of the year.
The decision to close the business, announced to employees November 3rd, is not due to financial reasons.
“I’ve been at this desk for 32 years,” said Donald Black, co-owner of the business along with brother David. “It was time.”
Black said he and his brother David had talked about closing the business for a while.
“We wanted to let our employees know first,” Black said.
Black Lumber Company was opened in Morrisburg in 1949 by Grant Black and his son Lyle. Donald and David Black are the third generation owners of the business.
